Gandesa

Leaving Tortosa northbound along the Ebro river, you turn left, when you reach Benifallet and may enjoy a nice trip through the mountains, to enter finally in Gandesa. All the region arround this village is located on a plateau. This is why the district is called Terra Alta spanish, what means: (high land).

Gandesa also is the stronghold of the "Vino Negro", a wonderful red wine, you can purchase for lees than 1 € / liter.

Secret tip:  eating food with garlic you will enjoy the taste of the wine even more.
