Tortosa,
is located in an antique
town with about 35.000 inhabitants. Tortosa is separated by the river Ebro with
the older part of the city including the downtown area to the left and the
modern area -Ferreries- to the right.
Before it was named "Dertosa" by the Romans, Tortosa's name was "Tyrikas", called by the Greeks, that, allegedly, were trading here about 600 BC.
Tortosa is formed of many historic buildings from the Middle Ages. The "Castell de la Suda" is especially outstanding above downtown. This fort was built in the 10th century by the Arabs after conquering Spain and is now serving as a "Parador Nacional", a Four Star hotel, run by the state.
Enjoy the magnificent view of Tortosa, the river Ebro and the opposite mountains with their highest peak Mont Caro 1.447 m. You can visit this mountain peak , taking your car and driving up to the highest point. From there you have a real spectacular view: you will see the surrounding mountains, the valley, all the villages, the Ebro, the Delta, the Mediterranean and sometimes some islands. Since this mountain is located in a Natural Park, you can even see rare animals like chamois, jumping from rock to rock. Don't miss it !

How to reach our office?
When you come from Aldea (exit motor way) to Tortosa, you pass through a small industrial area and enter a 4 lane motor way which leads you directly to town. The picture underneath shows the last roundabout (Plaza del Bimillenari) before entering Tortosa. The street to the left (apparently it goes into the mountains) leads to the bridge crossing the river Ebro. You keep driving on the right lane until the next roundabout, where you turn to the right. Follow this 4-lane street (Carretera de Valencia) now straight (1 km) until the roundabout with the traffic lights. Take a right turn and after 100 m, the end of the second block you will find our office on the right side of the Avenida Rambla Catalunya with the number 67. You might find a parking just in front of the office. We wish you a nice trip.

Have a look at the first map of Tortosa and find the first track towards us. They may need a time to charge, but it might be a good help. Always follow the red dots:
